TSRS Aravali’s Lit Fest 2019 was truly a celebration of the might of language! From spell bees in both, Hindi and English, translating and guessing famous movie dialogues to performing famous songs translated into Sanskrit, the event was packed with activities, quizzes and performances in a variety of languages.
The middle school enjoyed designing posters, bookmarks, book covers and turning stories into comic strips, while the senior school was deeply impacted by various issues that were debated in the Lit Debate competition. From discussing the politicisation of art forms, rise of call out culture, glorification of war and propaganda by states, to debating whether society should actively boycott the work of artists that have committed morally reprehensible acts, the event was an eye-opener.
The fest rekindled among students the love for literature, and provided them a platform where their understanding of politics met poetry, where their view of society met art, and where their art found voice and space for the world to hear and see.
