Eleven TSRS students had travelled to Sweden for the annual Indo-Swedish exchange in early November last year. We created deep bonds with our exchange partners and eagerly looked forward to their visit to India scheduled in March, 2020. However, it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic which has disrupted what we consider day to day life across the world.
Nevertheless, in the spirit of the exchange itself, a virtual high tea was conducted on the 25th of September, 2020 for the culmination of Exchange Programme’19-20. Although the Swedish students could not experience our rich culture firsthand, we decided to create presentations on Indian festivals and traditional dance forms of India.
The Swedish students also conducted an enriching presentation on five festivals celebrated in Sweden. They gave us an insight into their beautiful culture.
The evening was nostalgic one as all of us students felt grateful to be part of such an enriching programme through which we learnt to appreciate another culture and respect our own. It helped us create lifelong friendships with our partners.
